People from all walks of life have shared that procrastination and time management are two issues that are problematic—not only to their day-to-day lives, but are also barriers to realizing their own creative potential.
Being consciously aware that these barriers exist is half the battle (well, at least 15%—ha ha). What you might initially see as a "road block" is merely just a speed bump along the way. Knowing both when and how to slow down, hone in, and actualize are essential to moving forward. |
Abandon the necessity of timelines and perfectionist tendencies. Refinement happens along the way when it's supposed to happen, even if you find yourself "stuck" and have never taken the time to dissect and reconstruct your own thinking.
Perhaps you've had ideas in the past that were put on the backburner and eventually faded away into the "idea abyss." They can still be revived, refined, and developed and give you a sense of accomplishment. Starting with a Blank Slate at any moment in time will always yield something new. |
THE PROBLEM:
I have seen many, many great ideas that other people have had get lost like dust in the wind due to procrastination and having one's plate already way too full! I am certainly one of those people—but sometime you just cannot STOP a great idea! The key is committing yourself and sticking to it. Whether you are working on a short film feature length film, or tv/web series, the planning process all starts with an idea. I call it a "message" that lies deep within us and yearns to be shared so that others can see a new way of looking at the world through someone else's eyes. |
THE PROCESS:
After the initial consultation, a project proposal will be created, with an itemized list of what I think are some areas of need where I can help. We'll figure out what pieces of the plan you'd like to work on with me and we'll create a timeline/schedule for the work. I love being able to get people going on projects and even did a video series that focuses on "pre-development" that is located at the bottom of this page. I like to create easy to use, very accessible tools that will guide you all along the way. |

Starting ANYTHING, taking the FIRST STEP, is incredibly challenging and brave. As much as we'd all love to jump right into our content creation, our artistry, our craft—it is important to delve into a predevelopment process.
I want to share what I have learned as well as a few developmental processes I have personally used as a freelance, independent content creator and development consultant. |
